Submit an abstract to share your knowledge and experience during the Smart Energy Hubs Conference!

We invite researchers from knowledge institutions and professionals working in consultancy, business, industry and municipal or provincial governments to contribute to increase and spread knowledge about:

  • Regional energy planning, Storage, spatial and infrastructural aspects for Smart Energy Hubs
  • Preventing and solving grid congestion on medium/low voltage networks
  • Smart Energy Hubs solutions framework and applications
  • Cyber secure and interoperable ICT-systems and device interfaces for monitoring and control of Smart Energy Hubs
  • Hydrogen integration in Smart Energy Hubs
  • East Netherlands Smart Energy Hubs pilot program
  • Multi-commodity smart grids, sector coupling and power to X
  • Smart charging in Energy Hubs
  • Energy Management Systems, Smart energy hubs analysis, tools and methodologies (AI and Digital Twins for Smart Energy Hubs Optimization)
  • Community-Driven Energy Hubs and Local Energy Markets
  • Heating Networks and District Heating Integration in Smart Energy Hubs
  • Components and Systems for Smart Energy Hubs
  • Regulatory and Policy Frameworks for Smart Energy Hubs

To present at the conference, submission of an abstract is sufficient. Your presentation will be in English, has a duration of approx. 15 minutes (additional 5 minutes for questions by the audience) and can be from a technical, organizational, economic, legal or social-ethical perspective. The opportunity to submit a summary (text only and in English) is open until September 14th 2025.

Presentations are selected based on the degree of innovative knowledge or experience from research and practice that is offered to the audience. A presentation about a plan for a research or project is less suitable.

After approval, you will be invited to complete your participation in the conference via registration and payment, 150 euros for professionals / 25 euros for students. For contributors that are interested in upgrading their abstract and presentation to a journal publication, the conference has organized a special issue on Smart Energy Hubs for the journal Energy, Sustainability and Society. To qualify for this, the following is important:

  • Notify the conference chair by e-mail of your interest to upgrade your abstract to a paper for the special issue. When additional information is needed, this will be negotiated by e-mail.
  • After the conference, the chair and scientific committee will decide if your contribution qualifies for the special issue and the chair will send you a personal invitation for this.
  • To publish in the special issue, publication fees apply by the journal. We are currently in the process of finding sponsors to provide a discount to invited publishers. The applicable publication costs will be explained in the invitation.
